~Tradeart for Alainprem~ This is my part for an art trade with https://alainprem.deviantart.com/ showing my 3D version of his Hoplitea character. I have 3 versions of it (inked, painted and comics) and couldn't decide which one to post, so in the end I posted them all in a single deviation. It will automatically cycle through all 3 versions first time you load it, and then you can click the screen to manually see each one. ==> Please tell me *which* version you like the best? Painted, Inked, or Comics? :aww: It's funny how ~Alainprem asked me for this art trade last month (January 2009), but now claims to be too busy to work on his part. If people don't have time for it, why do they even bother getting me involved? Fortunately this is not something that happens very often, but it's not the 1st and chances are it will not be the last time. We are just in the 2nd month of 2009 and I already got a commission I never got paid for, this unrequited art trade I was invited into, and also that Canadian music theft from my Flash animations. Sounds like a "progression", since 2008 also started up with another massive art theft from yet another Canadian website (what's with the Canadians?!). But the good news is that I will be *finally* reaching 100,000 page hits this month! Yay! :D Figure is V4. AS3 programming by me, no music this time. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

~Triple ShadoGal Special~ This is my very first 3-in-1 post combining three new deviations that can be switched using my brand new animated 3D menu. Simply click one of the 3 green buttons located at the picture's bottom to see the next one. See how the 3D menu animates and the next pic shows up with a nice transition effect. The current image number is indicated by the red triangle marker below the center button. That is, the center button upfront is the current one. Just as a note, this is NOT a prerecorded video or tweened Flash animation. The dynamic 3D menu animates in real-time and the transitions are also calculated in real-time. In addition, this animation is very high-res (768x1024) so it might run slow (or not at all) in older computers. Technical Notes: This project was entirely written with ActionScript3 (AS3) with a total of 320 lines of code. The 3D menu took me 2 days to create and can have any number of items (used 3 here). The menu buttons can be anything you can draw with a paint program. The 3D menu can be placed anywhere, and also resized and rotated. The 3D menu can also be integrated with web pages if you can handle embedded HTML and JavaScript programming to integrate it with this AS3 object. I also included a cute graphical loader screen (with a catgirl), but you might not see it if you have broadband. I also implemented both source code and file theft protection mechanisms trying to avoid having my work stolen (happens a lot here at dA). Figure used is TY2 and I created from scratch the "ShadoGal TY" outfit she wears - all parts including wings, gloves, bracelet, earrings and boots. The skirt was rigged with a hybrid of conforming with 3 body handles. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

~Virtual Bento Boxes~ If there is one thing you can do ANYWHERE in Japan is eating. There is a huge industry in Japan dedicated to producing portable food that is easy to consume anywhere you are or go. One of the most popular of those are the "bento boxes". Each is a complete and self-contained meal, and it comes in a convenient small box that is usually microwave-able for extra convenience. Bento boxes in Japan can be bought at convenient stores, supermarkets and even from vending machines that will heat it up for you on the spot. School students will bring their home-made bento boxes with them, so they don't have to go anywhere or spend money eating out during their rather short lunch breaks. Food served in bento boxes is often quite well balanced and healthy meals, contrary to American fast food. Nonetheless, bento boxes are still considered as fast food in Japan, even when there is such a huge difference from what we understand as "fast food". For example, all bento foods are never frozen. Instead, they are freshly prepared and packaged everyday around the country, and it's very unlikely you would ever buy a bento box from the day before. Japanese "fast food" is balanced and healthy, and that's why you rarely see fat people in Japan.
