It’s made bad on purpose

May I invite you for a virtual trip through Laos. Starting at the capital Vientiane. Then via Vang Vieng, beautiful situated at a river with Karst mountains and caves to Luang Prabang, a world Unesco heritage site. Then to the hill tribes of North Laos. Then down via the Karst mountains of Tha Khaek to South Laos with the 1000 islands. We end our trips at waterfalls at the border with Cambodia. Laos has kept a lot of the original relaxed atmosphere and a natural simple way of living of the people. Sometimes you feel back in the past.

Malaysia, as I experienced it and expressed it in my Malaysia pictures selection, is a very colorful country with many faces. Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims leave peacefully together. The country created beautiful architecture and monuments. Kuala Lumpur is one of my favorite Asian cities (together with Singapore, Beijing and Bangkok). There is so much variety in this country, even in one city like KL. Add to this an amazing rich nature and green islands with beautiful golden sandy beaches in an azure-blue sea and you have a perfect mix, which every tourist can really enjoy.

A short compo for the Ludum Dare 21 (thema : ESCAPE). This game was made within 9 hours (from Sunday 11:30am to 8:30pm). I couldn’t participate to the whole 48h LD, so I decided to try to make a game in really short time (I had my Sunday free). I wanted to try to make something complete within one normal business day (8h), just to see what I can achieve, when I really commit to it. Note : I’m sorry I didn’t have time to include the happy ending branch :) The assets where almost ready (they are in the PSD source file), but I was running short on time to include it… Maybe a later version ? Like our other recent release, Triangular 2048, A to K is a clone of the popular 2048 game, which has been reinvented and cloned in numerous creative ways since it was released under an open source license. A to K is special because it uses letters from our popular WordIt game series instead of numbers on the tiles. The game version on this page is written in Flash, but you can also try the HTML5 version, which is supposed to work even on iPad and other devices that don't support flash. How to play A to K is played Using the Arrow Keys on the keyboard, or WASD. Each keypress will move all pieces on the board as far as they can go in that direction. If a piece moves onto another piece with the same letter, they merge into a single piece with the next letter in the alphabet. Each time you move the pieces, a new piece with a value of A will also appear on a randomly selected empty spot on the board. The game will end when there are no more possible moves left. Your goal is to combine matching pieces until you reach the a piece with the letter K. Beyond that, the goal is to maximize your score as much as possible before reaching the ending.
